Hydraulics Field Observation

For this assignment, we were asked to go to find a place with flowing water nearby. I chose to go to the Logan River at the Crimson Trail trailhead to observe some hydraulics in action.

Hydraulics Field Observation: Welcome

Field Map Sketch and Cross-section

Below, I have a rough sketch of the area I observed with a cross-section that is approximate to scale. I also calculated discharge (Q) by finding the Velocity (V) and multiplying that by a rough channel area (A). When doing so, I got a Q of approximately 5 cubic meters per second.
